Statement of Attitude
We
believe in majoring on the majors and minoring on the
minors.
In essential beliefs – we have
unity.
There
is one body and one Spirit – just as you were called
to hope when you were called – one Lord, one faith,
one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is overall and
through all and in all. (Ephesians 4:4-6)
In
non-essential beliefs – we have
liberty.
Accept
him whose faith is weak, without passing judgment on
disputable matters. . . Who are you to judge somone else's
servant? To his own master he stands or falls. And he will
stand, for the Lord is able to make him stand. . . So then,
each of us will give an account of himself to God.
Therefore let us stop passing judgment on one another. . .
So whatever you believe about these things keep between
yourself and God. (Romans 14:1,4,12,13,22)
In
all our beliefs – we show love.
If
I. . . can fathom all mysteries, and all knowledge, and if
I have faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I
am nothing. (I Corinthians 13:2)
The essentials of the Christian faith include the deity, death, resurrection and second return of Christ – the sinfulness of man and salvation by grace through faith in Christ alone. The saved will cherish His Word and seek to teach and live it faithfully, being alive in His Spirit, and enjoying His gifts and fruit.
