Meet the Staff

Even though God has blessed us with a strong pastoral staff, our most valuable assets are our volunteers. In fact, it's the volunteers who give of their time and energy that truly make Christ's Church the special place it is. And it will be the volunteers who are actively using their gifts in ministry, who will help us reach our God-given potential as a church.

We thank God for each of them! They are all ministers and vital parts of our ministry. Would you like to know more? With that said, we'd like for you to get to know the highly passionate staff that God has brought to Christ's Church.

How is Christ's Church Led?
Christ is the head of the church (Eph. 1:22-23; Col. 1:18). He is the true source of all the church is and does and His glory is to be the object of every act, function and motive of the body, both individually and corporately.

Elders
Elders are the leaders of the church, who in the Bible, are also called pastors (shepherds) and overseers (Acts 20:28; Eph. 4:11; I Peter 5:2). The elders are men chosen for their ministry according to clear biblical requirements (I Timothy 2:11-3:1-7; Titus 1:5-9).

The elders are always spoken of in plurality because God intends for more than one man to lead and rule over the church as a safeguard for both the church and man. The elders' responsibilities include ruling (I Timothy 5:17), managing (I Timothy 3:4-5), tending (I Peter 5:2-5), giving account (Hebrews 13:17), living exemplary lives (Hebrews 13:7), using authority (Acts 20:28), teaching (Ephesians 4:11, I Timothy 3:2), preaching (I Timothy 5:17), doctrinal instruction (Titus 1:9), and discipline (Matthew 18:15-17).

Christ's Church is an Elder governed Church, not a Congregational/Member governed Church. It is our understanding that Scripture does not call for the church to be run by the members in a democratic fashion but that it clearly teaches that the Elders are the directors, managers and overseers of the Church (I Timothy 3:1-7; Titus 1:7-9; Hebrews 13:17; I Thessalonians 5:12-13; Acts 20:17-38).

This does not mean that the elders will not seek the input of the members when making decisions for the Church. It is the desire of the elders to be as open as possible with the members of the Church, and to seek as much input as possible from the members in order to make decisions that reflect the conscience, first of God and second of the membership of the body.

It is the hope and prayer of the elders that we will lead Christ's Church in humility and with godly motives. We are always open to brotherly and sisterly discussion, criticism and/or advice, as long as it is done so in love. And we would appreciate your prayers for wisdom and discernment to lead Christ's Church in a manner that is holy and blameless.

At Christ's Church, we currently have four men who have been set apart to serve as an Elder: Don Bredamus, Mark Headen, Brian Pace, Buck Wardle.

We have a COVENANT OF LEADERSHIP UNITY that helps us walk out and maintain the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace in which we are called to live. It is agreed upon by all of the Christ's Church elders and their wives.
